PROGRESSIVE PILATES PROGRAMS

Clinical Pilates

Clinical programs are tailored to address specific exercise needs.

Exercise for Parkinson’s Disease is led by certified PD Warrior Instructor Paula Hoover. These classes incorporate research-backed exercises designed to target skills often compromised by the progression of Parkinson’s. Emphasis is placed on agility training, exercise diversity, upper body amplitude, short bursts of high intensity, and dexterity tasks. These classes focus on what Paula refers to as "physical sudoku" – combinations and patterns challenging both mental and physical coordination, promoting right and left-brain connectivity for neuroactive organization. All these methods are seamlessly integrated into Pilates apparatus sessions, ensuring diversity, specificity, and enjoyment.

Osteopenia-specific classes aim to enhance bone density through increased resistance training and weight-bearing exercises. Stability exercises and safe stretching techniques are incorporated while avoiding twists and forward folds in the lower spine and legs.

Pre/post-surgery, Pre/post-natal classes or injury conditioning classes are developed in collaboration with specific Physiotherapists and medical professionals. Examples of past and current clinical programming encompass Meniscus Tear, Concussion, Bulging discs, Hip replacement, Scoliosis, Spondylosis, Multiple Sclerosis, Whiplash, Osteoarthritis, and Left Anterior/Interior Chain through Postural Restoration research.
