Joanne Borek-Rog
“In the Pilates studio, your body comes alive when you move with a focus on stable positioning, proper alignment, core engagement, and breathwork. When you nail these elements, you’ll find that moving becomes not just easier, but also more fluid and enjoyable. After a class, parts of your body should feel like you just had a tune-up.”
In her journey to becoming a movement specialist, Joanne has personally witnessed the transformative power of Pilates—both in her own life and in the lives of many around her. This practice offers a holistic approach to alleviating various physical discomforts, while simultaneously enhancing strength. As you delve deeper into your Pilates practice, you’ll also discover improvements in balance and flexibility, creating a well-rounded sense of physical and mental well-being.
With over 15 years of teaching experience, Joanne brings training and certifications to guide you through your Pilates journey. These include Stott Pilates certification, obtained in Toronto, Ontario, as well as Yoga and Yin Yoga here in Vancouver, BC. In addition, she holds certifications in Barre and Yamuna Body Rolling, broadening the scope of her understanding of movement and body mechanics. She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Guelph.
Her vision as an instructor is that all her clients become the strongest versions of themselves and improve their overall well-being. Her intention is to guide each of them through that process.
Joanne resides in scenic North Vancouver, with her husband, their twins, and their beloved dog, Jasper. Meanwhile, her eldest daughter enjoys life in downtown Vancouver.
